We’ve traveled to many gorgeous places around the U.K. — from hotels, to shepherd’s huts, cottages, and caravans — but our most favorite place to stay is the gorgeous Log Cabin Holidays in the Cotswolds.
Us humans, Sev, and Lily adore visiting this gorgeous cabin overlooking the lakes. We feel so peaceful but so at home, too.
Here are a few reasons why both humans and pups love a holiday visit to a cabin.
TIME TO EXPLORE
Exploring a new area is great for dogs because it’s perfect for mental stimulation with the new smells and sniffs. It also promotes a great head-space for people, encouraging them to be aware of where you are and the thoughts and feelings you experience while being in such beautiful surroundings.
Being somewhere new comes with having lots of things to see and do. Not only are the Cotswolds a stunning place to explore, but the log cabin where we stay has gorgeous walks and lakes on the grounds (meaning you don’t have to go far to see something new.) Finding new places to adventure can create enjoyment during dog walks (which can be lost when sticking to the same routine or places.)
Being able to spend quality time with your dog is so important for us. Bonding with them and adventuring in new places and different circumstances really makes for the best time away. Being with them while having the best time really is a joy to see, running around, swimming, and sniffing.
Log cabins are so cozy and homey, which is lovely for settling in nicely for the time spent there. Having a home-away-from-home environment is great, but you get such a sense of luxury and peacefulness whilst staying in the cabin overlooking the gorgeous scenery.
Staying in luxury! This is different for everyone, but we love the hot tub and the log fire to warm up after enjoying the outdoors all day. The boat and kayak are so much fun and having the lake outside your cabin is wonderful and means we have two very happy spaniels, too.
Have you taken a log cabin vacation with your pup? Tell us about it in the comments!
