Hi/Woof! Michelle & Watson here of Watson & Walls.
We recently took a trip to Sedona and were in complete awe of its dog-friendliness! Everyone we encountered was a complete dog lover, so no shortage of belly rubs. The town is also surrounded by enormous, vast red rocks — it’s breathtaking in every direction you look. Sedona should definitely be high on your list for dog-friendly weekend getaways!
Read on for our top 6 favorite dog-friendly spots in Sedona for planning your next trip!
THE KIMPTON AMARA SPA & RESORT
Oh em gee where, to even begin with how amazing the Kimpton is?! From check in to check out, they provided the best service for us. Daily happy hour from 5-6 pm is literally THE BEST. Yes, LITERALLY. Watson was the hit of happy hour, it was hysterical.
The amenities are top notch, just to name a few above said happy hour: free yoga 2x a day, free coffee/hot cocoa in the AM, infinity pool & outdoor jacuzzi, fire pits, free valet, free shuttle service, dog bed & bowls, fitness room, and citrus water! Oh, and the location can’t be beat — you’re just a quick walk up to the street from the main drag of town.
If you don’t want to stay there, the restaurant SaltRock is definitely worth a visit!

CHOCOLATREE
Definitely our favorite stop of the trip! All vegetarian food, and they make almost everything on the menu themselves from the tortilla to the hot sauce. Watson had a great nap on the patio while blankets kept mama warm!
Chocolatree offers really unique flavors and combinations that were unexpected for this Californian. We split the Green Goddess Salad and an Enchilada, so if you go, order at least one of these dishes!

DEVIL’S BRIDGE
Sedona is known for hiking, and it’s for a good reason. One of the most popular hikes in town is Devil’s Bridge. It’s pretty moderate for the most part and absolutely GORGEOUS! The first 3/4 of the way is mainly a dirt path, and then you start bouldering up to the bridge — that’s where it goes from mild to moderately spicy 😉 There will probably be a short line to wait for your own shot on the bridge, but it’s so worth it!
LOCAL JUICERY
If you’re a kale salad, maca powder, almond milk lover like me, Local Juicery will be your jam! We went back here twice, that’s how amazing Local Juicery is. I really fell in love with the font on all their packaging, mostly their selection of homemade mylks. I had a fabulous smoothie and amazing avo-toast. Your pup is going to have to stay on the patio outside though, FYI!

CREEKSIDE COFFEE
This local gem was really unexpected! Creekside is a dog-friendly coffee shop — as in dog-friendly INSIDE AND OUT :)!! It feels like a very cozy environment where true locals go. Creekside has really good food too, and is right across the street from the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village.

AIRPORT MESA HIKE
This hike was recommended by our Kimpton concierge, and was so worth it! You drive most of the way up to this mesa, so once you’re there it’s mostly flat and the views are instantly endless. The hike is a 3.5 mi. circle on the mesa to get 360 degree views of Sedona. It’s not very strenuous, but you are high up, so don’t forget water.

So what do you think, will you add Sedona to your 2019 travel list? Comment below and let me know!
