Bringing home a new furry family member is a very special day! A lot of times you may not know their exact Barkday or how old they are, but today is THEIR day and they must be celebrated! Celebrating their Adoptiversary or Gotcha Day is one way they’ll never FUR-get how much they mean to you and your family!!! It’s a super fun twist on a traditional Barkday pawty and your pup will honestly RUV it on any day!
Mark Your Calendar
You’re about to get a DOG! The countdown has officially begun. The day you bring home your new dog is known as their “Gotcha Day” or “Adoptiversary” – whatever you may call it, it’s a day to celebrate! Mark it down, add it to your Google calendar, engrave it in your mind BECAUSE you wouldn’t want anyone to miss your human Barkday, now would you???
When the day comes, make sure to do it BIG! Never let them FUR-get the day they became YOURS. Each year when their day rolls around, make sure they’re spoiled beyond measure. They may not have a calendar or remember the same way as we do, but they sure will give you all the RUV and enjoy their day!

Celebration Necessities
Every Gotcha Day must have a CAKE!!! To celebrate your furry family member’s special day, you’ll need a few necessary items:
- Dog-furiendly cake
- Pawty hat
- “Happy Gotcha Day” or “It’s My Adoptiversary” bandana
- Paw-resents and treats
- Pawty decorations
- Camera for photos
Your pup will feel SO SPECIAL and super RUVED! It’s the little things we do that make it so special for them and for you, too!

Capturing the Memories
Celebrating their special day is one you’ll never want to FUR-get as well! Making sure to capture every moment, every year, EVERY THING! It’s not only super duper cute, but super important (at least in my opinion)! It’s just like human kids, capturing their first walk, first cake, first birthday. Recreating the same posed photo each year is a cute and fun way to remember the first year and capture the entire journey with your family. Taking a “Happy Gotcha Day” video singing to your pup is another fun way to capture the moments! However you decide, always capture these PAW-recious moments with them! You’ll look back and be glad you did.

Treating your pup to a Gotcha Day or Adoptiversary pawty is just another way to celebrate their DAY!!! Invite all of their furiends, grab some special treats and doggie safe eats, and make the day all about them. They sure will have a ball and RUV it all!
Gather all of your pups favorite things to create a set up just for them! Start by getting the celebration necessities! The cake, decorations, treats, and pawty gear will bring it all to life. It’s as easy as 1, 2, TREAT ME!!! Whether it’s a huge backyard bash or a small fur-sibling family pawty, your pup will have a blast!

Introducing a new furry family member is the absolute BEST DAY in my opinion! Remembering that day will be one you and your family will cherish FUR-ever!!!! I’ll never FUR-get the day I brought my first fur baby home… I adopted sweet Lola Mae from a shelter back in Rockport, TX and every May is her Adoptiversary, Gotcha day, unofficial Barkday and more! It’s the day she made me a dog mom and I’ll never FUR-get it!
Making the most of each year will not only help you to remember these precious moments, but it’ll show your pup just how much they mean to you. It’s always about the little things and to them, it’s a BIG thing… always cherish the years you have with them. You’ll want to celebrate all the days you can!!!

Woof, Woof! It’s time for a pawty!
