Ever heard of the quote “I’ve got two problems: One, I have nothing to wear, and two, I don’t have room for more clothes”?
Well, I hate to break it to you, but that quote no longer applies to just humans. These days, the New Age canine kids are taking over the Instagram fashion world! I could name at least 10 trendsetters that every dog parent will envy for their closet full of designer clothes! But we’ll leave these fluffy trendsetters for another conversation. 😉
In case you haven’t already seen our fashion feature on NBC New York, I’ll have you know that I spend a good portion of my time scrolling through the internet and Instagram hashtags (#petfashion, #dogtrends, etc.) for new styles. A cute denim jacket with funky patches or a bright patterned bandana…I’d love to see my boys wearing them.
A cute outfit is great, but I draw the line when it comes to comfort. I like how some of these up and coming canine designers are blending comfort with style. Talking of these designers, I want to share my current favorites. So without further ado, here we go:
STUDIO ELOISE
‘Cool, Casual, and Chic’ is how I would describe Emma’s style. If you want a monogrammed bandana for your pup, then look no further. She started out with designing her little Maltese ‘Elly’s’ clothes. In Emma’s words “Coming from South Korea, I was used to small dogs having more clothing options: casual, dressy, organic, high-end. Sewing and collecting cute fabrics already had been my hobby, so I enrolled in the FIT Pet Product Design Program in 2014. Thus originated Studio Eloise.”
MAX-BONE
Founder and CEO Parisa Fowles-Pazdro started her own entrepreneurial journey in 2016 by capitalizing on her unique design sensibility. It all started and is analogous to many a beauty founder who couldn’t find the right product to fit a particular need. Her preppy designs are a big hit in NYC and LA, where her retail stores are located. But fret not, you can also order her clothes online.
EYE OF DOG
The inspiration behind Eye of Dog is the designer’s furbaby, Eyvi — a pint-sized Chihuahua. Kathy wanted clothes that were both comfortable for her pup but also matched her personal style. What was Kathy’s passion for 13 years, is now an edgy, one of a kind, fabulous pet clothing brand known as Eye of Dog. From faux fur hoodies to faux leather biker vests, you name it…this Australian brand has got it!
DOG THREADS
Who wouldn’t want to match the love of their life? And I don’t just mean significant others. Gina and Scot are the creative duo behind Dog Threads, creating cool classic shirts not just for pooches but their mommies and daddies, too! Now that’s a perfect Christmas postcard with a twining family! Their little fluff ball Thomas is often seen on Instagram matching his mom and dad’s style. He is the inspiration behind this cool, family-friendly brand.
TOTO & ROY
This particular South Korean brand swings between edgy and preppy. Designing her pup’s clothes started as a hobby for Yi-Seul Cho. She would receive compliments every time her little pup would strut its stuff. The more people complimented, the more confident Yi-Seul became at realizing her dream to start her pet clothing line. Boy, we sure are glad her clothes are now available online to purchase!
Well, there you have it! My current favorite pet fashion designers. I may have just helped get your Christmas wish list ready. You’re welcome!

Hi! I’m Gauri! I joke that I live two lives: one as a boring finance professional by day and a crazy dog mom/photographer/fashion blogger/avid traveler after hours. When we’re not slaving at work, my hubby and I travel with our boys – Dior & Obi-Wan. Yes, they go where we go!
