I consider myself pretty lucky to be living in San Francisco. San Francisco is one of the most dog-friendly places ever. You’ll be able to bring your pup just about anywhere! I’m pretty sure you’ve read a lot of Roo by now, but she is pretty well traveled. Besides all the traveling to different cities, we do have a pretty fun day around the city! On a typical day, I would be out with Roo from 9 am to 9 pm! Here are just a few things I bring with me just in case:
DOG BAG
Since Roo is only 5 lbs, she is the perfect dog bag size. I’ve started taking a dog bag out because (maybe it’s a small dog thing, or maybe it’s just Roo) she gets tired easily. I recommend this backpack from Timbuk2. It has mesh on both sides with zippers that allow any pup to have their head sticking out. It has 2 pockets for personal belongings and even a slot for a water bottle. The best part of this bag is its bottle opener. Who doesn’t love a dog bag that also has utility?!
WATER BOTTLE
I recommend this specific water bottle because it doesn’t waste any water. The whole bottle is also the bowl, so it makes drinking and carrying easy. It also comes with water filters to allow easy on-the-go refills. You just press the button and water comes out, and if you don’t mind the back fill, you can have the water go back into the bottle!
TREATS & TOYS
Treats on the go! Roo loves these freeze-dried meat treats from Smallbatch. They are easy to crumble into smaller pieces so Roo can enjoy them since she has no teeth. Of course, you should pick something that is easy to carry and something that your pup loves.
LEASH & COLLAR
This is pretty basic, but also have a leash on your dog just in case. Even if you have the most obedient dog, you cannot control everything else that happens.
POOP BAGS
Always pick up your pup’s poop! Since we love accessorizing, Roo has this poop bag bag from The Foggy Dog. They have a good variety of products and are beautifully designed.
Here are just a few things we love to use. What are some items or brands you recommend? Tell us in the comments!

I always bring very similar items – leash/collar, bowl for water + water (that water bottle you listed is amazing!), poop bags, and usually our Chuck It + ball if we’re going to play!
