Welcome to our very FIRST Pet of the Month Spotlight! Each month, we will be featuring one pup (or a group of pups) who are known for doing something unique, special, and awesome. Does your dog surf? Are they a hiking extraordinaire? Do crazy tricks? Sing? Are they famous? A model? Whatever it is, we want to hear about them! For submission information, see our last post.
Today, we have a very special pup to introduce you to… so without further ado, let’s get this paw-ty started, shall we?!
What is your name?
Hello everyone! My name is Scout the Dog!
Where are you from?
Originally, I’m from the Navajo Nation, but now I live in Los Angeles, California with my parents!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Well, as I mentioned before, I was born somewhere in the Navajo Nation. I was found there as a stray puppy playing with my first parent’s neighbor’s dogs. No one knows why or how I got separated from my fur mom and litter, but I was a loner when they found me. My first human parents, my Dad’s sister and her husband, adopted me and then eventually I came to my forever home with my Dad and Mom. Still following all of that? Whew… haha.
Nowadays, I get to do all sorts of things! My parents and I like to go hiking, camping, play at the dog beach, play at dog parks, oh… they loooooooooooove throwing the ball for me because it’s my most favorite activity in the whole wide world more than anything else…, AND we love exploring new places!
Do you have any nicknames?
My Mom and Dad call me lots of names! I hear them say Boosh-Boosh baby, Boo-Boo, Scoot, Scott, Scooch, Moo-Moo, and other weird sounding names I can’t really pronounce because they make no sense. Not that those do…
How many years have you been on Instagram?
I’ve been on the ‘gram since December of 2016!
What got you started on Instagram?
Originally, my Dad wanted to document my life when he first adopted me. After he and my Mom got married, my account became a way for us to explore and document our travels to new places and doing new activities!
What does a typical day look like for you?
Mom and Dad always go to work, but then when they come home I get to play with my ball because it’s my most favorite activity in the whole wide world more than anything else! We also go on walks, I get to rough-house with dad, and I get lots and lots of snuggle time. I even get to take up the most space on the bed when we go to sleep!
What is your favorite travel spot?
Hmmmm… this is a hard one because there are so many amazing places to visit! I do like San Diego a lot because my first human parents come to visit, and I have really awesome grandparents and an uncle there!
If you could be another animal, what would you be?
I’d probably be a deer or maybe a fox. I kinda-sorta look like them sometimes!
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
That’s easy, my ball! I have no idea why I love it so much, but I do. Did I mention that playing ball is my most favorite activity in the whole wide world more than anything else?
What is your favorite meal or thing to eat?
Oh, that’s easy! Mom and Dad always make me homemade dinners (I heard them call it the raw diet?), and I pretty much love it. I get to eat organic things, which I love…even though I have no idea what that means!!!
Tell us one random fact about you that no one knows!
Part of the reason why I have a home now is because of my brother, Milo. He was my first human parent’s dog, and decided to give me a little love bite on my ear! If you look closely, I’m missing a tiny chunk out of my right ear. My first human parents felt so bad they ended up keeping me! I now have a loving home and family because of Milo’s tiny teeny love bite =D.
