I think we can all agree on this, we do not deserve dogs. That unconditional love is insurmountable and I live every day trying to make my dog Theo feel just as much love in return. Which is why almost anyone who has met him will agree that Theo is the most spoiled dog they have ever met. I’m not trying to buy his love, I just want him to have everything he could ever want or need in this world (and I have a shopping addiction). It can be tough finding the perfect gift for the perfect dog, which is why I’ve put together the ultimate birthday guide.
Wine
If we count in dog years, by their 3rd birthday, all dogs are of legal drinking age. Which makes Dog Wine the perfect birthday gift for the sophisticated pup. Maybe you’ve got a party animal on your hands or maybe you just want to feel less weird about drinking wine alone with your dog on a Saturday night. Now you and your dog can both enjoy a glass. Extra points to Apollo Peak for also having punny names for their blends. Beer is also available!
Bones
Chewing is a popular activity in our household. We’ve tried all the kinds of bones out there: rawhide, teeth cleaners, hooves, even the forever bones. The winner without question has and will always be the gross, smelly bullysticks. We love “I and Love and You” because they make odor free ones!
Books
For the more intellectual pup, consider getting him a personalized book that you two may or may not read together before you go to sleep each night. Petlandia allows you to customize with dozens of different characters that will perfectly fit your unique pup’s style!
Ball Launcher
I get it. You’re sitting there thinking “but aren’t my arms already a free ball launcher?” Yes, except the Chuckit! Ball Launcher is honestly life changing. With the least amount of effort possible on your end, the ball goes at least twice as far as it could if you threw it yourself (often further than I’d expected and landing in large pricker bushes, so buyer be warned). It also comes with glow in the dark balls. So you can throw for hours without your arm getting tired and without losing the ball.
Glow Necklace
No birthday would be complete without glow in the dark sticks. They are a universal constant at parties for all ages. Not only are they cool (and a little nostalgic) but they make it easy for you or others to spot your dog at night.
What’s your dog’s favorite present you’ve picked out for them? Let us know in the comments!

Alli, 27, is a not a regular dog mom, she’s a cool dog mom. By day you can find her working at the University of Pennsylvania, but by night she’s navigating through what we like to call “adulting.” From tacos and margaritas, to spin classes and avo toast – whatever it may be, there is no one better than Theo to be by her side.
